We are honored to be home to Laura Salisbury, the creative heart and mind behind
Always Be Kind Yarn. Laura has expanded her dye studio into our space, bringing
even more hand-dyed beauty and meaning to our community.
Always Be Kind Yarn was inspired by Laura’s late daughter, Kaylan, who battled mental
illness for years and died by suicide at the age of 25. Suicide affects too many, and it’s
easy to ask, “Why?”—but a better question is, “WHAT?”

• What can we do to support others?
• What can we do to let others know we care?

The answer is simple: You can ALWAYS Be KIND. Kindness is suicide prevention.
Laura channels this message into her work, creating vibrant rainbow colorways and
self-striping sock yarn as a celebration of life, resilience, and connection. Every skein
is dyed with heart and purpose, serving as a reminder to reach out, support others,
and show kindness in even the smallest ways. By featuring Laura’s work at Stringfield
Yarn Collective, we celebrate not just her artistry, but also her mission—to make the
world a little brighter, one stitch at a time.
